Connected Port Deep Dive 2019

This event was the second of a series of exclusive living energy conferences, powered by Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) and Institute for Energy Economics (EWI), University of Cologne.

RSM and EWI invited professionals to investigate the current energy topics, queries and themes. At the second Living Energy Conference visionary managers, officers, academics and leaders worked on;

- Technology: data, analytics and platforms for a smart energy port system 

- Organisational perspectives: new business models and cluster collaborations in a smart energy port system

- A case study on smart energy applications for a German-Dutch closed loop supply chain

These thematic workshops were led by professionals and RSM and EWI faculty members.

Keynote speaker:

Energy scenarios for Germany. How oil, gas, hydrogen etc. will change in the big market and how Rotterdam will be connected to for many years to come?

Stijn van Els has recently rounded off his career with Shell as CEO and Country Chair of Shell Germany. He started his career at Shell after studying physics in 1988 in the Netherlands. Over the years, he has gone through a variety of international technical, commercial and major project leadership positions, including in the Netherlands, Japan, UK, Australia, Qatar and Germany. Stijn has recently been appointed as member of the Supervisory Board at TenneT, a leading European electricity transmission system operator (TSO), with activities in the Netherlands and in Germany.
